Re. Phishing

Hi, everybody. We are in the UK. We have not visited the Philipines. We have not been out of the UK since 2004. If you get emails purporting to be from me requesting help, DO NOT RESPOND. Our service provider has made my computer safe again.

Exhibition

Ken Murray reports that his students have an exhibition at the Framing shop near the cinema in Bromley at the end of this month. The big news is that the shop will be selling art materials! Yippee! The quality of framing is second to none, by the way. I know because I have seen Fabricio's work.

Dee Cowell

Superb teaching skills and awake students made for another super experience this evening. Gratitude abounds.

Dali

Entertainment in full measure with more than enough about Dali to have us all looking at his works with different eyes (now there's scope for something surreal for us to meditate upon). A wonderful evening and The Slinn presentation of a chap who spent a lot of time painting dusky maidens will be just right for the sixth formers among us. By the way, I spend a lot of time being an eighteen year old! (I am sorry for the earlier typing error.)

Wrotham Arts Festival

It has been and gone! If you missed it, you missed a treat. Derek and I had a great show with some of our pieces now hanging in new homes. In two years time we will be there again for sure, God willing. What about you?

March Demo.

What a wonderful venue! The decision to move to the golf club at Shortlands was absolutely right for us. Thise who were present - and there were a lot of us - thoroughly appreciated all that was on offer; first rate coffee, an bar that stayed open beyond our demo. period, good lighting and comfort. All that, added to the really good use of our sound and vision kit, made for a good evening for all. Even the demo. was good... Next month it is an evening with our friend Hash and his unique use of acrylics. I anticipate another super evening. See you there.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everybody. I have been sorting the studio for a new year of painting without the responsibility of The Easel and teaching drawing and painting. Wonderful! 2013 will be a truly happy new year!

Criticism Evening

It is the first Friday of the month and our monthly meeting. This week we are encouraged to take along a couple of paintings with which we are not happy and would like suggestions re. saving them. I'll be doing my bit, but be prepared to add your two-penny worth of advice. We want encouragement not destruction, happiness not grief. There can be nothing worse than destructive criticism.

ENCOURAGEMENT

If you have not had a sale for a while, take heart. I sold a piece last weekend that I made in 1978! See? The right place at the right time and the right person, and whoopee!

The BAS Spring Exhibition

This is not to be missed. Another display of artistic talent on show. A lady travelled from Dover especially for our exhibition and bought a number of pieces. It was good to see red dots almost as soon as we had completed the hanging. Well done every contributor.
