Chris Richards

As Allan says, Frames and Art, the excellent framers near the cinema in Bromley are going to sell art materials. They would like to know what our members would like them to sell. They are likely to start with Daler-Rowney plus whatever is in demand. What's your favourite make/product? Favourite watercolour paper? Good lines in pens and pencils? Best brushes? They can't stock everything but as BAS members themselves they would like to respond to your needs - And don't forget, their framing is excellent and if you produce your BAS card you get the discount. Contact them directly or via this blog.

Here's my list

I visited Frames and Art for the first time recently and was struck by Taiana and Fabriciao's enthusiam. It is good to see that shops still want to come to Bromley in these difficult times, let alone anything in the art area.

I want to see things that aren't available in the various newsagents and booksellers in Bromley who stock some art materials, as well as things that need to be seen rather than bought online. I like to experiment too!

My favourite ranges are:

Acrylics - Daler Rowney System 3 original and Cryla

Oil - Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Soluble Oil

Brushes - Catalyst Wedges are great fun and the Catalyst Polytip brushes seem useful, both from Princeton Artist Brush Co. My more conventional brushes are W & N Artisan and Galleria, and Proarte acrylic - I use all of them for both oil and acrylic.

It would be quite fun to see what other members use!
