Friday 1st September – An exclusive live demonstration in alcohol inks for members and friends
by local artist Sara Karen

My style of art is still very much evolving, but have found my favourite medium to be oil paints, so you will find they feature a lot in my repertoire. But I still experiment with other forms and mediums, alcohol inks being another favourite of mine and very very different from oils.
I take my inspiration from my surroundings, trying to capture colours, movement and architecture of nature onto canvas. You will often find me taking photographs of clouds, flowers, landscapes and seascapes on my daily walks in the beautiful Kent countryside with my dog and husband. I tend to stick with Impressionism as a style, which from time to time slips into realism, depending on what I am painting, but whatever I paint, I paint with my heart, capturing the emotion of the moment, enveloping you into the scene. So whether its slightly moody and atmospheric or still and peaceful, it’s more than a painting, but an experience.
