Studio Session Profiles

Jackie Ive

My interest in drawing started at a very early age.  I gained an Art O’level but to be truthful can’t remember any tuition taking place.   I was probably too busy messing around !

I was introduced to watercolour many years later on a rainy day on holiday some years ago an American artist started me on my art journey.  Next thing I had a box of tube watercolours and I was addicted.   I then plucked up courage and joined Sidcup art club.  I’ve never been confident with my work but am always given so much encouragement.

Since retiring I was then able to join the Ripley Wednesday group.   Again meeting some amazing artists.

My preferred medium depends on my mood usually coloured pencils followed by watercolour.

My other passion is creating custom greeting cards, for birthdays, anniversaries, births and weddings.

I learnt to use a sewing machine a couple of years ago and gained yet another art hobby, patchwork and appliqué.

I feel so grateful I have been reconnected to the Art World.
